A family on mission to make disciples
oik·os
[oy'-kos] Greek noun
________________________________________________________________________
Literally, a physical building or home.
Metaphorically, the family of God or the community of believers. In ancient Greek and Jewish culture, the "oikos" was a central unit of society. It encompassed not only the immediate family but also extended family members, servants, and sometimes even close friends. In Jewish tradition, the household was also a place of religious instruction and practice, with the family playing a crucial role in the transmission of faith and values.

The story of God's people has been about two overarching themes from the very beginning: COVENANT and KINGDOM. His covenant is an invitation into a deeper relationship with him. His kingdom is a challenge to accept the responsibility of being an example of who He is to the world. The goal of OIKOS Ministry is twofold: 1) Foster the development of spiritual family on a church-wide scale and 2) Spur the Body of Christ on to reach the lost.

OIKOS Covenant Family is a group of believers who have given a resounding "WHOOP! WHOOP!" (that means yes!) to the mission of Del View Baptist Church. Covenant Family members are believers who have committed to a deeper RELATIONSHIP with the leadership and body of Del View. Furthermore, they have accepted the RESPONSIBILITY of partnering with us in carrying His light to the dark places through disciple-making.

UPCOMING EVENTS:
Hey Ladies! Do you have a hard time understanding the bible? If you have ever struggled with or been intimidated by approaching SCRIPTURE, then Eat the Word is for you! Join some disciple-making women who are on fire for Jesus as they teach you how to break the word into pieces that are understandable and easy to digest. Learn how to hear the voice of the Lord consistently for yourself. You won’t want to miss it! Tuesday nights this semester at 6:30pm in the Ken Task Center!
The Church frequently tells people to read their bibles, but we have done a poor job of equipping people to do it. By teaching men to Eat the Word of God, we effectively teach them how to hear God's voice for themselves and walk out obedience to His word. Men, if you have ever struggled with making the word relevant to your life, are needing community with other men, or would just like to dive deeper, Eat the Word is for you. Dinner will be provided! Monday nights in September at 6pm in the DV Worship Center.
Hebrews 10:24 says, "And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds." Spur in the Greek means to literally jab someone in the side so they must respond. Join us for a weekend of fellowship with other men where we will challenge one another to respond to the call of the gospel to lead in our homes and in His Church. It will be great time of fellowship, encouraging and equipping. Click here to sign up!
